No Outlets brings fast-paced fun, creating a dynamic world from a single audience suggestion. They'll weave together memorable characters and relationships that leave you laughing hard the whole time. A special guest troupe opens the show each week.

Cast Bios

  • Dylan Anderson (he/him) has been on stage in and around Ann Arbor, MI since his first improv jam in 2017. A 2019 graduate of the improv program at Pointless Brewery & Theatre, he's been a member of several improv troupes including Finance Camp (Pointless), Work Friends (Ann Arbor Civic Theatre), Negative Larrys (Civic Improv), and a sketch comedy writer/performer with Mr. Tasty. When not performing, he works as a freelance creative, designing and building bespoke furniture, tricked-out camper vans, commercial signage, and laser cut works of art. He can be seen too much at hear.say performing with No Outlets on Saturday nights, Extra Credit every first Sunday, and Who Can Say? every second and fourth Sunday.

  • Alex Bergmans has been performing around Detroit since 2016. He is a teacher and resident company member at Ferndale’s Go Comedy Improv Theater. He was also a member of Planet Ant’s farm team and has written, acted, and directed several scripted productions. You can see him perform in hear.say’s No Outlets, as well as his troupes Da Bureau and Steamed Hams.

  • Ainsley E. (she/her) made first contact with improv classes in 2016, later completing and then teaching the curriculum at the Pointless School of Improv, taking various coursework at WGIS, as well as numerous intensives and workshops around the U.S. She has performed with several teams, including Super Special Force (Planet Ant), Work Friends, Negative Larrys (Ann Arbor Civic Theater), and Finance Camp (Pointless), and was honored to play in an ensemble team at the Edinburgh Improv Festival in 2024. Outside of improv, you'll find her lifting heavy things, throwing pots, and playing The Sims. Catch her playing at hear.say on Saturday nights with No Outlets.

  • Ashley Hughes (she/her) decided that, while applying to graduate programs in the fall of 2016, it was also the right time to sign up for an improv class at Pointless Brewery and Theater in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She fell in love with the art form and has been performing ever since, performing on house teams at several theaters and teaching classes. Currently, she is on the Who Can Say? troupe, the Extra Credit team, and the No Outlets troupe all at hear.say brewing + theater. She teaches classes at hear.say, as well as running a monthly graduate student workshop at U of M. Ashley is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Throughout her time doing improv, she has been able to see the mental health benefits firsthand and incorporates improv concepts into her therapy work with clients.

  • Gary Lehman (he/him) has been learning and performing improv since 2003. He is a high school theatre teacher during the day, where he teaches acting and comedy, and directs plays, musicals, and sketch comedy after school. Gary has attained his MFA in Applied Drama & Theatre (with a concentration in Improvisation) from Eastern Michigan University. He has completed improv training programs at the Improv Inferno in Ann Arbor, Second City Detroit, Second City Chicago, The Annoyance Chicago, UCB NYC, and iO Theatre Chicago’s 5-week summer intensive. Gary is a current member of the Resident Cast at Go Comedy! Improv Theater in Ferndale, where he has performed in the Allstar Showdown for sixteen years. He has been Go Comedy’s Education Director since 2013, as well as a teacher since 2011. He was Education Director, a teacher, and co-director of the resident cast at Pointless Brewery & Theater in Ann Arbor. He is currently the Education Director at hear.say theater, where you can also see him perform on Saturdays with No Outlets and every third Sunday in the Allegedly storytelling/improv show.

  • Jethro Nolen has been improvising for nearly thirty years. His experience includes learning, performing, coaching and teaching in Chicago (iO, Second City, Noble Fool), Amsterdam (Boom Chicago), and Los Angeles (iO West, Groundlings). Most recently, Jethro lived in Pittsburgh where he was one of the co-founders of Arcade Comedy Theater. He has studied with improv luminaries like Del Close, Mick Napier, Susan Messing and Gary Austin. Recently relocated to the greater Detroit area, Jethro is excited to be performaing at hear.say Theater.

  • Kristy Nolen began her career in Chicago, where she trained, performed and taught improvisational comedy at legendary venues such as The Second City (National Touring Company), Annoyance Theater, iO Theater, plus in Amsterdam with Boom Chicago. Theater credits include: Arcade Comedy Theater, Shakespeare in the Arb, Pasadena Playhouse, Bricolage Theater, Bailiwick Theater and Carnegie Mellon Studio Theater. Ms. Nolen trained with The Marymount College London Program, The La Jolla Playhouse Conservatory and received her BFA in Acting from Ohio University. A proud member of SAG-AFTRA for over 20 years, her television credits include One Dollar, Castle Rock, Those Who Kill, ER and Early Edition. Film credits include A Man Called Otto, Sweet Girl and The True Adventures of Wolfboy. Now in the Detroit/Ann Arbor area, she is appearing at many venues, including Planet Ant Theatre, Go Comedy! Improv Theater, Civic Improv, hear.say Theater, and Washtenaw Community College. Check out her improv comedy duo, Nolen & Nolen.

  • Heidi Sherick (she/her) has been performing in southeast Michigan since 2017. Her improv journey started in Bozeman, MT at Equinox Theater in 2005. She graduated from the improv program at Station Theater in Houston, TX prior to her Pointless School of Improv education in Ann Arbor. In Houston she was a member of house troupes at Station Theater as well as Old Enough to Know Better and Pure Inanimation. Locally, she has been a member of Work Friends (Ann Arbor Civic Theater) and The Toast (Pointless). Heidi enjoys teaching Improv and uses the tenets of improv in leadership development.
